Week of June 8th: Create a Library Memory Book

For the last week of school, I thought it would be fun to have you reflect back on some of your favorite books and library memories from this past year. Scroll towards the bottom of the page to get more information about PWCS Summer Reading and PWC Public Library summer reading.

Library Activities You Can Do At Home

High Tech:
K-5: 
First, you will need to fold two pieces of computer or notebook paper in half for your book.

In your memory book, include a page for each of the following:

  • A cover for your book
  • About me page (name, grade level, teacher name)
  • Favorite book read to me (in the library or classroom)
  • Favorite book I read
  • Favorite book I checked out
  • Favorite library memory
  • Plans for the summer

You should include a least one sentence and one picture on each page. Next, “publish” your book by creating a Powerpoint slide presentation of your memory book. When you have finished, presentation, have a family member record you presenting the presentation.

Mid Tech: 
K-5: 

First, you will need to fold two pieces of computer or notebook paper in half for your book.

In your memory book, include a page for each of the following:

  • A cover for your book
  • About me page (name, grade level, teacher name)
  • Favorite book read to me (in the library or classroom)
  • Favorite book I read
  • Favorite book I checked out
  • Favorite library memory
  • Plans for the summer

Lastly, “publish” your book by creating a Powerpoint slide presentation of your memory book. Share your presentation with your family.

Even though the public library is currently closed, you can access many resources online including e-books, videos, and games.
